Bespoke Training

EEY aims to provide cost-effective options for in-setting team training, staff meetings or hub training collaborations. Prices are bespoke and designed to fit in with budgets, numbers and requirements. These can also include follow up in-practice discussions, to embed practice.
All training focuses on recent research, core knowledge of child and educational development and practice and offers ideas for in-play practice, provision upcycling and pedagogy to improve outcomes for all unique children 0-5y.
EEY has worked with nursery settings to deliver a series of training, schools with one-off whole training and bespoke sessions.

Current training (and this is always evolving) includes areas such as:
  • Gross Motor physical skills development (can focus on enhancing reading/ writing and PSED also)
  • Fine Motor Skills - (what, how and why & can focus on how these enable not only writing but also SLC skills)
  • PSED skills- including Executive functioning, Emotional intelligence etc, enabling these in practice and provision and factors affecting these such as attachments, technology overt use and trauma (al of these can also be separately focussed upon in training if required).
  • Self-regulation/ Co-regulation skills - what these are and how to enable/ support them.
  • Maths and Mud - Enabling early mathematical skills (and what these are)through Sensory play.
  • Enabling communication skills, through enhancing the environment, practice and provision.
  • Sensory play  and SPD, why sensory play enables all areas of learning, how to enable this and looking at what SPD also is in terms of children struggling with their learning and skills.
  • Supporting vulnerable children with essential skills - GM and PSED, looking at issues of trauma, attachment and SPD in more focus.
  • Loose parts - what, how and why these enable effective early learning and skills.

Feedback from attendees

Some FEEDBACK from recent Workshops attended by Reception Teachers, Preschool Managers, Nursery staff, CC staff, play-workers, TA's, EYPs and EYTs and more:

  • 'Fresh ideas and deeper understanding of how they support development.'
  • 'Very good value for money and as a twilight session as other options are so expensive - haven't been out for 2 years due to costs as am full time nursery teacher in an FU!'
  • 'Great to have the information in straightforward language.'
  • 'Extremely knowledgeable and interesting.'
  • 'Great for simple ideas.'
  • 'Promotes new ideas and gets you thinking about your own setting.'
  • 'I've come away with knowledge I can implement straight into practice as well as my studies.'
  • 'Very knowledgeable trainer with lots of research based evidence.'
  • 'Found it very interesting, I wish it was not so fast - enjoyed it!'
  • 'Good to have training at a higher level.'
  • It was just right - short enough to inspire you to do your own research and get excited about trying something new!'
  • 'A better understanding of child development and the importance of the prime areas and their impact on the specific – which will form the basis of in house training for support staff. Plus, how we can relook at planning and provision to ensure our children’s development of GMS and sensory
    experiences.'
  • 'How current gaps in our provision for the above mean that we may not have either recognised the
importance of these or expected too much higher functioning too soon and so we need to plan for this in a different time of expectations level.'
  • It is a short but very informative event, it made me want to learn more!'
  • 'Underpins what we do and the reasoning behind it.'
  • 'We were presented with current up to date research into best and desirable practice with underlying child development information which put everything into context.'
  • 'Very cost effective for single delegates in that the very low charge will have a high impact on provision and more so once cascade training is disseminated. This is so as I am in a position to carry this out. I have been on 2 courses and would definitely attend further sessions.'
  • 'It exceeded expectation as it was very informative and there were really useful hand-outs which suggested further reading and research.'
  • 'I would recommend it as colleagues do not always appreciate the importance of play to learning.'
  • 'Very enthusiastic and lots of really useful information!'
  • 'Very enjoyable and thought-provoking, a desire to learn more.'
  • 'I would recommend it - to be able to think outside of the box and as a reminder that play is best.'
  • 'Workshop exceeded expectation and linked to Early Years Teacher Training study’
  • 'Clearly explained facts and interesting provision.
  • (The course )‘Exceeded expectation - loads of fantastic ideas presented in an interesting way.'
