What is Empowering Early Years?

EEY aims to provide relevant, practical, cost-effective and inspiring high-quality CPD training in key areas of child development, play-based learning and Early Years Education, through in-setting professional training as well as workshops for practitioners, teachers, Managers and all those working with the under 5’s in a professional capacity.

EEY has worked with over 200 Early Years practitioners, teachers, child-minders and managers across Devon, Somerset and Dorset since it began in 2017, with a diverse mix of schools, nurseries, preschools and nurseries.

EEY also aims to work with parents with young children and empower their knowledge about the importance of play and has undertaken some parent’s groups initially, with this being a growing area.

EEY wishes to offer workshops and training around babies, toddlers and young children, which are designed to cater to the diverse levels of trained professionals working with children 0-5years (or those in training). This training incorporates recent psychological and scientific, as well as educational research and then translates it into easy-to-understand concepts and simple, practical applications through enhanced excellent play opportunities – positively improving outcomes for all unique children.

EEY is passionate about the unique child, the developing brain and body and learning through play.

    Testimonials

Dan Polak – Director of Education, TEAM Multi Academy Trust. ITT (QTS) student bespoke training session May 2023.

Hannah’s delivery of nuanced and complex areas of cognitive science was simultaneously straightforward for trainee teachers to access without losing the detail critical to understanding how we learn. Trainees have made heavy reference to Hannah’s sessions in their essays and thinking, with clear and effective improvements to their practice as a result of her input

Aysgarth Pre-prep school, Yorkshire, June 2023.

We were delighted to welcome Hannah to our Pre Prep and were fascinated to hear all of the research and advice on how to best support our youngest pupils. The focus on learning and developing through play has given us the confidence to continue with the work we have been doing in this area. The practical tools and tips have been invaluable and Hannah’s approachable and friendly style allowed us to ask lots of questions. Her knowledge in this field is outstanding.

Devon Early Years Setting Manager (0-4years), October 2023.

As an Early Years setting, Hannah has been our trainer and advisor for several years now. She was such a breath of fresh air after the COVID-19 pandemic when we had not received in house, face-to-face training for 2 years. She has a wealth of knowledge and is truly inspiring. As a manager, I can reflect on staff’s needs and then Hannah tailors the training to meet our current needs.
Hannah shares lots of practical ideas, while linking it in to how a child’s brain develops and works basically, so that it all makes sense.
I would recommend Hannah to anyone, I’m already planning our next training!
